A "Something Blue"- Wedding at Waller Ranch Dade City, FL
July 2019 / Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina / Dade City, Tampa Bay, & Surrounding Areas / Wedding & Engagement Photographer
Chelsea and Mark’s wedding day was a day of southern perfection. April, while still hot, is a perfect month to have a spring wedding in Florida. And it was a perfect wedding like you can only imagine but in our little town of Dade City, Florida. This was my first time photographing at Waller Ranch. I don’t know what it is about the ranch, but it seems to produce its own kind of magic. The barn's white façade bounces its magical light back in shining splendor. No matter where you are on the property, it's almost as if it beckons you to come inside. As you walk into the barn, the sun streams filtered light in through its windows. It envelopes you in its own little magical glow and warmth. Then there are the rolling hills in the distance. The dappled light shining through the tall oak trees. And the gentle sway of the grass and trees in the breeze. They are magical all on their own. You can see how it quickly became one of my favorite venues for portraits.
After the bride donned her gown, Chelsea wanted to do a first look with Mark, her soon to be husband. She then chose to do a first look with her father and daughter. Chelsea and Mark's darling daughter was also their flower girl. The dress she wore was not any cookie cutter flower girl dress off the rack. It was custom made from Chelsea’s mom’s wedding gown. It doubled as Chelsea's “something old” and “something borrowed.”
The wedding ceremony then took place under a magnificent sprawling southern oak. With limbs so wide it created its own umbrella of intimacy for the special occasion. And in front of family and friends, Chelsea and Mark pledged their love to each other forever. While the couple’s daughter played in the train of her mother’s wedding gown, they exchanged rings and a kiss. After sunset portraits and dinner, an April shower rolled in surprising everyone. But that didn't stop the fun. After everyone hurried inside the barn, the dance party continued well into the night.
Chelsea and Mark, Congratulations!
Thank you for asking me to capture your beautiful day!
Enjoy your wedding day forever from our perspective!

Family Session Under the Oaks
January 2019 / Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina / Dade City, Tampa Bay & Surrounding Areas / Lifestyle & Family Photographer
Among the rush of the holidays and short visits home from college, this amazing family was able to squeeze in time for some family portraits at the beautiful Laurel Wood Gardens in Dade City Florida. And when families show up looking as perfectly chic as this crew-well-my heart does a happy dance. Lisa-your family was amazing to work with and thank you for being the perfect photography subjects.
Keep on the sunny side,
Bok Tower Gardens
December 2018 / Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina / Dade City, Tampa Bay & Surrounding Areas / Engagement & Wedding Photographer
Bok Tower Gardens are found nestled in Central Florida, it’s hard not to consider this one of my favorite locations! Its manicured gardens, singing bell tower, breathtaking views, and rows of orange groves made it the perfect place for Irina and Jivko’s engagement session. They brought along their infectious sense of adventure and we spent the afternoon basking in the beauty of this location. A Bok Tower Gardens Engagement Session was definitely on my venue bucket list, so when Irina mentioned it for their engagement photos I was thrilled! Irina and Jivko were a dream to work with-hiking around the gardens trying to act like it wasn’t 86 degrees outside in December!
Downtown Tampa-Family Session
January 2018 / Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina / Tampa Bay & Surrounding Areas / Family Photographer
The beautiful moma in this group (you'll know her by her fabulous red boots) and I go way back. Like circa 2007. And I have gotten to know her darling family through the amazing and loving stories she's always sharing but I've never met them face to face-until now. Upon arriving at the shoot she was just gushing at the chance for me to meet everyone, especially her new grand baby, and seriously, who could blame her. Just look at them...a perfectly beautiful family, inside and out.
Christmas On The Beach
December 2017 / Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina / Tampa Bay & Surrounding Area Family Photographer
This Christmas was a little more special than previous years for the Currier/McLain/Wainright Families. This Christmas they all got to spend it together-and in sunny Florida. So here's the backstory...This family started with two daughters. One fell in love on a summer trip to Montana and so she moved (but not before I photographed her wedding). Four kids and eight years later, she was able to make it back to her hometown, just in time to thaw-out during our Florida Christmas.
Once she notified me she was going to be back in town we immediately started planning her photo-session and since 3 of her 4 boys had never seen the beach, it was obvious we had to shoot at Honeymoon Island State Park. Who doesn't love Santa hats and sandy toes?
Studio Christmas Session
November 2017 / Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina / Tampa Bay & Surrounding Area Family Photographer
This family came to me months before I was even thinking about Christmas or Christmas photos with a beautiful idea for studio portraits. I do a ton of studio work, but only with newborns. So I toyed around with some backdrops and props; and below is the final result. I'm currently in love with studio photo sessions. Especially in Florida...MERRY CHRISTMAS Y'ALL!
Sunset Family Photo Session in Sand Key Park
August 2017 / Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina / Tampa & Surrounding Area Family Photographer
Back in 2015 I was hired to second shoot a perfectly orchestrated, down-home, fall-themed wedding at the Pioneer Florida Museum in Dade City, Florida. I fell in love with the couples style, attitude, and not to mention, amazing good looks. So I was stoked when they asked me to takes some family photos this past summer. But this time they are a beautiful family of three. We traveled down to Sand Key Park in sunny Clearwater Florida to catch the sunset. And as always the Florida sky did not disappoint.
Vendor Spotlight: Triple C Ranch
July 2017/ Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina/ Tampa & Surrounding Area Wedding Photographer
Nestled off the beaten path in Brooksville, Florida is a little slice of rustic paradise. It’s a place where horses roam, family greets you, and grandfather oaks shade you from the Florida sun. This wedding venue is a central Florida gem and Lisa, with her family team, know how to decorate and plan for even the most discerning bride. Lisa, owner of Triple C Ranch, asked me to photograph the details of this styled wedding for them to use commercially. Upon arriving and touring the grounds, it quickly became evident that every detail was perfectly orchestrated and is a testament of Lisa’s commitment to her clients. From the adorable bridal dressing quarters (complete with catered hors d’oeuvres and champagne), to the perfectly manicured horse stables and bright open air reception venue, nothing was left unattended. This beautiful event was set over the top with flowers from the team at Westover’s Flowers and Gifts. If you and your local small business would like to be featured in a vendor spotlight (much like this one), feel free to contact me via Facebook, Instagram or my webpage.

Summer is my slow season--probably because of the oppressive heat in Florida, so, it gives me the chance to play around with my equipment and just create. I asked one of my past clients if she would model for me while I played around with new equipment/techniques. I wanted to perfect sunset lighting, in preparation for wedding clients who may opt. for a late wedding. This would also give wedding couples a great chance to get additional images after the sun goes down. Cheyenne, you were the perfect model and thanks for rocking this session!
The Littlest Mermaid
May 2017/ Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina/ Tampa & Surrounding Area Family Photographer
This little doll was destined to love the water, from her mermaid themed bedroom, to her mom’s maternity shoot on the rocks of Cleawater Beach, and her mermaid themed newborn photos. Well, she’s one and we are returning to the crystal blue waters of Honeymoon Island in Florida to celebrate one exciting year of life!
"Mint" For Each Other: Spring Wedding at Grace Family Church, Tampa FL
April 15, 2016/ Laina Stafford-Photography by Laina/ Tampa & Surrounding Area Wedding Photographer.
Megan was leaving on a trip out of the country but before getting on the plane she handed Luis a key. The key was for a box that held notes Megan had written him. One for every day she was going to be gone. After getting back home and realizing this is what the key stood for, he realized Megan had to be his forever. This beautiful spring wedding was the perfect chance to watch two people promise forever. The spring colors were perfect, the quirky details of basketball, Batman, & Converse were one of a kind. And as for the key and the locked box…they housed the rings that would be exchanged as husband and wife. Mr. & Mrs. Santos, thanks for having me photograph your day. I loved every minute of it.

Navy & Sunflowers: Summer Wedding at Laurel Wood Gardens in Dade City, FL
June 3, 2017 / Laina Stafford - Photography by Laina / Tampa Area Photographer
Shelby and Zachary contacted me at the beginning of 2017 and asked about using me to document their wedding. I had photographed a family member's of Shelby's years before and after seeing the photos from that wedding, she had wanted me to be the one to document her wedding (talk about flattering). Our initial consultation was at a great restaurant here in my little hometown of Downtown Dade City. It was not my typical meeting of just the bride and the groom. Shelby brought along her dear sweet mother (who stole the dinner check from me before I could pay it) and her, hilarious sister. I learned family stories, inside jokes, and felt like I was part of a family meal-not a business deal. As we talked about her ideas for the wedding and desires for her wedding photos, all her and Zach kept talking about was how amazing their families got along and how much this wedding was a marriage of families. Well they were right. This wedding was the true definition of a marriage of families. It was full of love, joy, way too much fun, and happiness. Not even the rain, sweltering heat, and oppressive humidity were going to keep this party from happening.
Shelby, you were positively glowing (and it was more than just the sweat), congratulations on the start of your little family, I can't wait to see sweet Kinsley Caroline.
